Kitchen Improvements!

A few months ago we finally starting making some much needed improvements to our kitchen. John was very agreeable and helped whenever needed. We basicaly just changed paint colors, added a few paintings, and our families helped out in a huge way. Mom and my sister-in-law Katie did much of the painting and John's parents came over from Hville one weekend to do the tile backsplash. I love my kitchen...and this process has really shown the love our families have for us. We are so thankful for all the help they offered. A side note...I finally got my new dishwasher this weekend!! Sadly, the installation resulted in some sort of clog in our sink faucet....SOooo, I ended up with a new faucet too! John does great work!!

On a side note...I made a fantastic, light, and EASY dessert to take to a friends' house last night....thoguht I'd share!

Ingredients:
1 - thawed puff pastry sheet
1 1/2- med-large granny smith apples thinly sliced
2 tsp - chopped butter
2 TB - turbinado or granulated sugar
2-3TB  - dark brown sugar
2-3 TB - cinnamon

Preheat your oven according to instructions on puff pastry package (about 400F).
Sprinkle turbinado sugar and 1 tsp of chopped butter onto the puff pastry. Sprinkle about 2 tsp of cinnamon onto puff pastry. In a bowl combine brown sugar, apples, and remaining cinnamon. Layer the apples, leaving a small border around the edges of the puff pastry. Sprinkle remaining chopped butter on top of the apples. Bake for about 15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden. Serve hot or at room temperature.

Hope you like it as much as we did. You can always add more sugar if you like things sweet!
