It's a BOY!

This news is old news in our house. However, thanks to all that we've been shuffling I have not had time to write a post about our happy news. To our new Little Man - Mommy and Daddy are so very excited about you! We loved you from the moment we found out. On that note...how we found out is a funny story that we will happily cherish.

In November the flu/stomach virus hit my workplace in Rome, GA hard. Within weeks nearly half of our therapists had had some form of it. YUCK. The week before Thanksgiving, while at the ASHA convention in Atlanta, I thought I had succumb to the ICS Yuck. I felt horrible. But it just wouldn't go away. By the time Thanksgiving rolled around I was still really sick - that was when John jokingly asked, "Are you pregnant?". I laughed and adamantly replied "No." and then immediately began a mental count of days. Oh. My. Goodness. Could it be?? I dug through my vanity to see if there were any pregnancy tests left over from when we were trying to get pregnant with FC (Remember, at this time she was only 7 months old) . There were two left. I took a test AND it was positive....barely. Two days later there was no denying it - Baby #2, "Dos", as John and I affectionately called him was on his way! While Mommy says that you were an unexpected, but strongly desired blessing - Daddy says you were planned all along. Either way - I thank God EVERY day for you!

This pregnancy has been different from the beginning. With FC I was hardly ever sick and felt great until the last 8 weeks or so. I ran through my 6th month and could eat literally anything I wanted. This time I was sick for the first 5 months, forget running - I gave that up almost immediately. I can't look at my favorite Mexican foods and I crave grapefruit and Oreo cookies nearly every day.

I am now nearly 23 weeks pregnant and feeling Baby Boy move every day. It is such an incredible feeling. Little Man has a name which we have shared with close family and friends and will share with everyone else upon his arrival.

We are excited to meet you Little Man! FC and you are going to make fantastic playmates - I just KNOW it.

Please pray for Little Man and Mommy's health. Pray for us as we move and get settled in Texas. That we are in the hands of a good doctor and hospital and that all the major transitions associated with moving go as smoothly as possible so that Little Man can be brought home to a somewhat settled house.
